Q.Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes. Phil is a Gas Safe registered engineer, which by law is required for any work on your boiler, gas appliances or flues in the UK. It is the single most important thing to check before you let anyone work on your gas.

Q.Which boilers do you install and work on?

Phil installs and services Vaillant, Glow-worm and Worcester boilers — mainstream, well-supported brands. That matters: parts are easy to source and any engineer can service them for years to come, rather than you being tied to an obscure unit nobody stocks spares for.

Q.Do you charge a call-out fee?

You'll always get a clear price before work starts, so there are no surprises on the bill. Google reviewers describe jobs completed 'on time and to budget' and help given 'all at a very reasonable rate' — that's the standard PD Heating & Plumbing holds itself to.

Q.Can you come out in an emergency, even out of hours?

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 8pm, and PD is closed at weekends — but the reviews tell the fuller story. One customer had Phil come round the same day, out of hours, when he 'wasn't supposed to be working that day'; another had their heating fail on a cold November evening and, within an hour of messaging, Phil guided them through re-pressurising the boiler over WhatsApp so they had a warm house again with no call-out at all. Q.Do you do full bathrooms, or just repairs?

Both. Alongside boilers, heating and everyday plumbing, Phil takes on full bathroom installations. As one Google reviewer put it after their project: 'If you are looking for a 1 stop shop for your new bathroom project we cannot recommend his services highly enough' — everything completed on time and to budget with a fastidious attention to detail.

Q.Will you explain what's wrong before doing the work?

Always. A recurring theme in the reviews is clear communication — Phil is described as 'very clear with his communication, prompt, tidy, and extremely courteous', and as 'great at communicating' from beginning to end. You'll never be left in the dark about what you're paying for.

Q.Is this really a family business?

Yes. PD Heating & Plumbing is run by Phil Dilworth, who does the engineering, and his wife Sarah, who manages the office and the diary. When you get in touch you reach the two people who actually run the business — not a call centre.
